Background

Scout supported participant travel logistics in two separate multi-site clinical trials.

One study was a Phase II randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled obesity trial. The second was a Phase III study involving participants with peripheral artery disease. Participants in both studies often had mobility limitations and other health conditions, including diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Some relied on mobility devices such as motorized scooters.

Many participants also lived in rural areas, requiring long ground travel to reach study sites.

Transportation was arranged for screening, baseline, imaging, ophthalmology, and other study visits. Coordination covered travel between participants’ homes and study sites, including vehicles that could accommodate mobility devices when needed.
